About Me

Back in early 2007, I was between jobs and boyfriends. As a result I had a lot of free time on my hands. I spent that time at the gym and working out and as a result I was in the best shape of my life. I had been running for several years at that time and had completed several half-marathons and even  a full marathon.

Then in February, I met the man who would become my husband and I got a new job. Goodbye hours working out, hello office hours and restaurant dates. We ran together, so while the weight did creep on, it crept on slowly. In November of 2008 though, we took a break from running after our wedding and it was all down hill from there. In the spring of 2009, I got pregnant and that first trimester exhaustion erased all hope of exercise.

Fast forward to January 2011 and I found myself obese and exhausted but finally ready to return to the person I used to be truly am.

I started from scratch with the C25K running program. It sometimes felt like a step back but it gave me the confidence to resume running and make the changes I needed to lose the weight.

As I write this in May 2011, I have lost about 20 pounds and just finished my first 5K in 2 years. I am excited to continue on with process and will be documenting my journey in this blog.
